Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Trend Local app ("Trend Local", "we") collects, why, and what you can do about it. Trend Local is run by Steven Teel in Texas, USA. Questions: support@trendlocal.app.

What we collect

• Account details: your name or business name, whether you're a creator or a business, and your email address if you sign in with one. Your email is kept private and is never shown to other members.
• Your profile: what you choose to add, such as your photo, bio, city, interests, social media handles and follower counts, collab preferences, and any campaigns you post.
• Activity in the app: who you like or pass on, your matches, the messages you send, pitches, and any reports or blocks you make.
• Your city: your profile stores the city you type in, saved as that city's center point so members can be sorted by distance. We don't store your exact location.
• Location while you use the map: if you allow it, your phone's location is used to show businesses near you. It's sent to our map server only to find nearby places and isn't saved to your account.
• Notifications: if you allow them, a push token so we can tell you about new matches and messages. You can turn these off in Settings.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your information.
• We don't show ads or track you across other apps and websites.
• We don't read your contacts, photos library (beyond the photo you pick), or microphone.

Who can see what

• Other members can see your public profile: name, photo, bio, city, interests, social handles and follower counts, and your posted campaigns.
• Messages are visible only to you and the person you matched with. We may review messages that are reported to us, to keep the community safe.
• People you block can no longer see your profile or message you.

Services that help run Trend Local

We use a few trusted providers, and they only get what they need to do their job:

• Supabase stores accounts, profiles, matches, messages and photos.
• Railway hosts our map server.
• Google Maps Platform provides business photos. We send it a business's name and location, never anything about you.
• Expo delivers push notifications (the sender's name and a short preview of the message).
• Anthropic powers "Set up my profile". If you use it, the website or text you provide is sent to draft your profile. It isn't used to train AI models.
• Resend sends emails, such as sign-in codes and feedback you send us.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account anytime in the app: Settings, then Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, photos, matches, messages and likes. Copies in our backups are erased within 30 days. You can also email support@trendlocal.app to ask us to delete it.

Your choices

• Edit or remove anything on your profile at any time.
• Turn off location or notifications in your iPhone settings or in the app.
• Email us to get a copy of your information or to correct it.

Age

Trend Local is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has an account, email us and we'll remove it.

Security

Your information is sent over encrypted connections, and access is limited so members can only read what they're allowed to see. No system is perfect, but we work to keep your data safe.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is important.
